Michael was born in Southern California. As a child he was exposed to a variety of foods as part of a family of food lovers. Growing up in Southern California he was surrounded by a large Mexican and Latin American community. This is where his passion for Latin food began. After moving to Canada in 1995 he noticed the lack of Mexican cuisine in the city of Winnipeg, a stark contrast from Southern California. In 2023 he began making tamales at home for family and friends. The tamales were good...well exceptional so he decided to share them with the community, which was missing a tamalero/tamelera. His tamales and salsas have been in high demand ever since.
